As we face another challenging winter, we are recognising the many faces of loneliness and are asking for you to step forward and join us in the mission to support as many people as possible.

Good Morning Britain's '1 Million Minutes' campaign

Now in its tenth year, the initiative is asking viewers to donate time rather than money and has so far seen more than 882 million minutes pledged to charities looking for volunteers to connect with those who feel alone.

Volunteering opportunities

Royal Voluntary Service volunteers in hospitals and communities offer vital services and practical help to people in need of a little extra support. Volunteering roles available can vary depending on where you live.

A lot of the patients we meet are elderly and don’t get many visitors. Sometimes it’s the chats that mean the most. Moments like that stay with you.
