Bringing people together through food & friendship

Doreen and her husband relocated to the coast following their retirement and with no family living near by, she found herself feeling very alone when her husband passed away having spent most of their lives doing things as a couple.

A regular visitor, Doreen has been coming to the club twice a week for the last eight years and looks forward to special occasions at the club like the Christmas celebrations.

"I really needed to get out and meet people. I needed people to talk to, and something to look forward to every week. The best part is the company, the chance to mix with other people is what I really come here for."

"I came originally as I had no friends in the area and nobody to spend time with, but I’ve got a great social life now all thanks to this club. I’d recommend it to anyone – if you’re on your own and feeling lonely, it’s really important to get out and meet people, so come to the club – you’ll love it! "
