Royal Voluntary Service has appointed Carole Urey to the newly created role of Marketplace Director to lead on the charity’s new digital volunteering platform and consultancy offer.

Supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery, the new platform aims to help charities reach more volunteers, empower businesses to unlock more value from their employee volunteering programmes and make it easier for people to volunteer and give back to their communities.
As part of her role, Carole will also oversee the development of the charity’s Volunteering Marketplace - a suite of services designed to support businesses create impactful volunteering strategies and programmes.
"This is an exciting time to join Royal Voluntary Service. By working together across the sector, we have an opportunity to inspire the next generation of volunteers, by making volunteering more accessible, flexible and inclusive, and by reducing barriers that prevent participation, including in workplaces. I’m thrilled to be contributing to a platform that will expand volunteer reach and drive greater community impact."
Carole Urey, Marketplace Director
"We’re pleased to welcome Carole to the team. Her leadership and experience will be immensely valuable as we prepare to launch the platform. Carole will also play a key role in establishing our new consultancy offering and ultimately, helping us achieve our mission to mobilise more volunteers to deliver support where it’s needed most."

The platform will launch to the public this autumn, however charities are already able to upload their roles. It has been shaped by Royal Voluntary Service, incorporating ongoing feedback from a number of charities, large and small. When launched, potential volunteers will be able to browse, search, filter and click and connect with the causes they care about, with a range of flexible and accessible roles to choose from.
The platform will also be used to match businesses with suitable employee volunteering opportunities and forms part of Royal Voluntary Service’s Volunteering Marketplace – a range of services designed to help businesses build, embed and optimise their volunteering and social impact activities. The offer includes bespoke programme design and expert consultancy.
