Royal Voluntary Service announces new Ambassadors

Gaby Roslin, Tasha Ghouri, and Tom Read Wilson join the charity

National volunteering charity Royal Voluntary Service has announced three new celebrity Ambassadors: TV and radio presenter Gaby Roslin, disability campaigner and TV personality Tasha Ghouri, and TV presenter, author, actor and singer Tom Read Wilson.

The announcement comes following Gaby, Tasha and Tom’s most recent support of RVS’s campaign to inspire flexible volunteering through the charity’s new digital platform, GoVo, which has been made possible thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery

The three celebrities joined the charity at Clarence House where Patron, Her Majesty The Queen, hosted RVS’s ‘Role of a Lunchtime’ food truck fronted by Spudman, to demonstrate that volunteering can fit perfectly into a lunch break.

Tom first connected with Royal Voluntary Service as a judge for the Platinum Champions Awards to celebrate outstanding volunteers as part of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, and has since continued to help celebrate the amazing impact of volunteers. Tom has supported numerous RVS campaigns, most recently by performing a reading of a hand-written poem on the charity's Virtual Village Hall as part of its Festive Spread celebration.

"Becoming a Royal Voluntary Service Ambassador for the year ahead is both a joy and a genuine privilege. Ours is a nation held together by acts of kindness, which my work with RVS reminds me time and again.

"I’m overjoyed to lend my voice, my time, and my wholehearted enthusiasm to supporting this special charity and celebrating volunteers who give their time with extraordinary generosity and spirit."

Tom Read Wilson, 2026 Ambassador for Royal Voluntary Service

Tasha has been working with Royal Voluntary Service since 2023, backing the charity’s Coronation Champions Awards and helping to celebrate the nation’s outstanding volunteers, bringing her own experiences of volunteering to the table. Ahead of her Strictly success, in 2024 Tasha hosted a special dance class alongside Johannes Radebe for RVS volunteers and clients, to highlight the many ways the charity's volunteers support health and wellbeing in communities across the country.

"I’ve had so much fun with RVS in the past few years, meeting inspiring volunteers, dancing with Jojo, and of course being served a jacket potato by Her Majesty. But most importantly, these opportunities have shone a light on volunteering, celebrating the amazing things volunteers achieve and inspiring people to give it a go.

"I’ve volunteered myself and know the difference it can make, so I’m very excited to be joining Royal Voluntary Service as an Ambassador, and helping to inspire more people to start their volunteering journey."

Tasha Ghouri, Royal Voluntary Service Ambassador

In January 2024, Gaby launched Royal Voluntary Service’s new year volunteer recruitment campaign by donning an apron at RVS’s Mill End Lunch Club and giving the club’s regular volunteers a well-deserved break, stepping in to dish up lunch to local older diners.

"I was in my element rolling up my sleeves at the RVS lunch club, I can absolutely understand why serving up lunch and having a chat with diners means so much to the volunteers. I could see the joy we were bringing to everyone, and that is beyond rewarding. I know that this is just one example of RVS’s many services which are supporting people who need it most, so I’m proud to be joining the team and hope that together we can encourage even more people to volunteer and spread joy in their communities."

Gaby Roslin, Royal Voluntary Service Ambassador

"We are delighted to welcome Gaby and Tasha to the RVS team as our newest Ambassadors. I am grateful for the time and passion they have already brought to some of the charity’s biggest campaigns and key moments, and I’m so pleased to have them on board at what is a defining period in the charity’s history, as we strive to mobilise more volunteers. Support from charity Ambassadors is hugely appreciated by all at RVS, for all that it can do to help us to increase reach and awareness for our mission to inspire would-be volunteers."

Catherine Johnstone CBE, Chief Executive of Royal Voluntary Service

Gaby, Tasha and Tom join the charity’s current roster of Ambassadors including Dame Elaine Paige, Felicity Kendal CBE and Wayne Sleep OBE, alongside Tom who will join as an ambassador for 2026.

Her Majesty The Queen became Patron of Royal Voluntary Service in May 2024, having previously held the position of the charity’s President since December 2012.
