Introducing Team Days on GoVo for Business
Ready-made team volunteering activities with national and local charities now on GoVo for Business
Purpose-led team days are now easier to organise. Team Days, the new feature on GoVo for Business, makes it easy to coordinate experiences that bring employees together while delivering benefits for communities and good causes.
Available to all GoVo for Business clients*, Team Days meets growing demand for simpler ways to arrange volunteering for groups of employees.
Research by Royal Voluntary Service, the charity that’s developed GoVo, suggests team volunteering is the preferred format for nearly half (47%) of UK businesses (1), however setting up group-based activities can be complex and time consuming, restricting uptake. Team Days removes these barriers, connecting clients with ready-to-book group volunteering experiences with a growing number of UK charities.
Current experiences include:
- in-store and sales activities with Oxfam
- donation collections with Royal British Legion
- book sorting with The Children’s Book Project
- letter writing workshops with From Me to You Letters
- packing school supplies for disadvantaged children across with world with School in a Bag.
Team Days is an end-to-end booking experience managed through the GoVo dashboard. Corporate admins can browse team opportunities and find activities to fit their availability, group size, location and budget. Booking requests are then submitted directly to charities and confirmed through GoVo.
Royal Voluntary Service hopes Team Days will accelerate progress towards its ambition of unlocking 100 million hours of employee volunteering by the end of 2028, by growing participation and expanding support available for causes nationwide. But the charity believes the benefits will extend beyond communities and into workplaces, with a poll of UK workers finding 61% think volunteering as a team will help bring them together (2).
"Team volunteering is an ideal way to support charities, deliver on social value goals, unite employees and build skills, as well as enabling employees to utilise their volunteering days. Traditionally, setting up this type of activity has been complex and labour intensive. By making the process easier with Team Days, we’re enabling our clients to do more of the great volunteering activities they want to do and make an even bigger difference. For charities, it also creates an effective route to connect with corporates and bring in additional income.
"From projects empowering children through the written word to tackling food poverty, we have a growing range of Team Days with UK charities of all sizes. We will continue to expand on this as we support our clients to maximise the outcomes of their workplace volunteering."
Vanessa Moscardo, GoVo Business Director, Royal Voluntary Service
"We are really pleased to see GoVo supporting Team Days. GoVo gives Oxfam the chance to connect with more organisations and introduce more people to the difference volunteering can make. By simplifying the process, it also helps reduce some of the administration involved in arranging corporate volunteering, giving our teams more time to focus on creating rewarding experiences for volunteers and delivering real value for our shops and hubs.
"Corporate volunteering days make a huge difference to Oxfam. Whether teams are sorting donations, helping merchandise stock, creating eye-catching displays or supporting online sales, every contribution helps us raise vital funds that support Oxfam's work tackling poverty and inequality around the world."
Karen Gurney, Oxfam’s Volunteer Experience Manager
"We’re delighted that GoVo is launching Team Days. The platform will give small charities like From Me to You visibility among companies and employees who might otherwise never hear about our work. Making these connections in one place will help us reach more businesses and give their employees a way to connect their local community which will enable us to support more people on their cancer journey."
Michelle King, Fundraiser at From Me to You Letters
