GoVo powers volunteering opportunities for The Big Help Out and The Big Lunch this June

Digital volunteering platform GoVo has been announced as the official volunteering platform for The Big Help Out, offering a wide range of roles for people across the country who want to get involved.

This year, The Big Help Out volunteering initiative is teaming up with The Big Lunch, the UK’s annual celebration for neighbours and communities, for a big weekend of friendship, food, fun and action from 5–8 June 2026.

Digital volunteering platform GoVo has been announced as the official volunteering platform for The Big Help Out, offering a wide range of roles for people across the country who want to get involved.

Royal Voluntary Service is delighted to join the campaign for another year, and is encouraging charities to list flexible, sociable, beginner-friendly opportunities on GoVo to help welcome more people into volunteering.

Organised by the Eden Project, the charity behind The Big Lunch, this year’s campaign brings the two initiatives together to encourage people to take part in ways that suit them – whether that’s organising a street party, joining a litter pick or supporting a local charity for the day.

Taking place in towns, cities and villages across the UK, the weekend is expected to bring millions of people together to eat, meet and lend a hand locally, making a positive difference for people, place and planet.

Royal Voluntary Service CEO Catherine Johnstone co-founded The Big Help Out in 2023 alongside Matt Hyde, former CEO of Scouts, as the official volunteering campaign of His Majesty The King’s Coronation. The initiative has already inspired more than 13 million people to volunteer over its first two years.

Everyone in the UK is invited to take part from 5-8 June. Find Big Help Out volunteering opportunities at GoVo.org.
