The Good Morning Britain '1 Million Minutes' campaign is now in its eighth year. The initiative is asking viewers to donate time rather than money and has so far seen a staggering 522 million minutes pledged to charities looking for volunteers to connect with those who feel alone.

As we face another challenging winter, we are recognising the many faces of loneliness and are asking for you to step forward and join us in the mission to end loneliness.

Royal Voluntary Service volunteers in hospitals and in communities offer vital services and practical help to people in need of a little extra support.

It's a wonderful thing to be part of and a fantastic way to spend my time.

Mark signed up as a Calls with Care volunteer following the 1 Million Minutes campaign in 2022. "I have the privilege of supporting Barry, a remarkable 90-year-old gentleman who I call every Friday. He's truly amazing and inspirational. He has incredible stories and is always eager to learn."
