Support at home
Royal Voluntary Service volunteers provide practical help and companionship that make a big difference to the lives of thousands of older people each month, helping them to live more independent lives.
As part of our Good Neighbours and Community Companions services, they pop in regularly for a chat over a cup of tea or drive people that can’t get out and about to GP or hospital appointments or even to the local shops.
Volunteers also deliver books to those who love reading but can’t get to their local library with home library services (also known as Books on Wheels).
Good Neighbours and Community Companions services provide a little bit of support when it's needed.
Our home library services deliver reading materials to people who can’t get to a library.
