Our Patron & President
In honour of Royal Voluntary Service Patron, Her Majesty The Queen and the example she has set in her record-breaking 70 years of service, the charity launched the Platinum Champions Awards for volunteers during her Platinum Jubilee year.
Together with the charity’s President, HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, and in partnership with The Big Jubilee Lunch, the awards were an official Jubilee project to celebrate outstanding volunteers across the country who are making a difference every day.
490 Platinum Champions received a specially designed pin and a signed certificate from HRH The Duchess of Cornwall. The 70 most outstanding volunteers were also invited to celebrate at a special edition of The Big Jubilee Lunch at The Oval during the Jubilee weekend.
Our Patron - Her Majesty The Queen meeting WRVS volunteers at the opening of Queen Elizabeth Close, Norwich, in April 1975. The Close was a housing development for older people built by the WRVS Housing Association.
Our President - The Duchess of Cornwall visiting Dolau Bran Lunch Club in Llandovey as it celebrated its 40th anniversary in July 2019.
