Support Our Festive Spread

Royal Voluntary Service at Christmas

At Royal Voluntary Service, our work won’t stop because it’s Christmas. We know that this is a time for coming together and for supporting each other. Our volunteers will be working tirelessly over the festive period, bringing help, support, company, and comfort to so many people in our communities and hospitals right throughout Britain.

Why donate to Royal Voluntary Service this Christmas

Christmas is meant to be a time for togetherness, but for many older people it is the loneliest time of year. Chronic loneliness affects 3.8 million people in Britain, and our research shows at least 1.2 million older people won’t be invited to a Christmas gathering this year.

For people coping with loneliness at Christmas, a hot meal in good company or a friendly visit can change everything. Our lunch and community clubs are a lifeline, run by staff and volunteers who are there when friends and family can’t be.

A donation to Royal Voluntary Service today will help support our work this Christmas and beyond. Last year, our festive events reached 6,914 older and vulnerable people who might otherwise have spent the entire season alone.

With your help, we can give the greatest present this year – the gift of ‘presence’ – and protect and grow our community clubs, to really be there for those who are isolated, alone, and in desperate need of care and company this Christmas.

Please give a gift today and give the greatest gift of all this Christmas: presence.
