Why take on a skydive?

A skydive is the ultimate way to step outside your comfort zone.

Whether you're ticking something off your bucket list, celebrating a milestone, overcoming a fear or simply looking for an exciting new challenge, there's no better feeling than taking that first leap.

You'll climb to 10,000 feet before making the jump and experiencing the incredible rush of freefall. Once your parachute opens, you'll have the chance to take in the views as you gently glide back towards the ground.

And while you're enjoying the adventure, you'll also be helping Royal Voluntary Service make a difference to people across Britain.

Why fundraise for Royal Voluntary Service?

Every day, Royal Voluntary Service volunteers help people feel connected, supported and valued. Your fundraising helps us continue our work supporting people in hospitals and communities across Britain. By taking on a skydive, you could help support services that:

Help people stay connected and reduce loneliness

Support people getting to hospital visits

Help people maintain their independence

Bring communities together

Provide practical support to people when they need it most

Provide activity and support groups for people living with dementia

Your skydive experience

Choose your challenge

Once you've registered, choose a suitable date and location for your skydive. You can take part on your own or encourage friends, family and colleagues to join you.

Get ready to jump

On the day, you'll meet your experienced tandem instructor and receive a full safety briefing before heading up into the sky.

Take the leap

Climb to 10,000 feet, take a deep breath and make the jump. Experience the thrill of freefalling at over 100mph before your parachute opens and you enjoy a spectacular descent back to earth.

Celebrate your achievement

Once you've landed, take a moment to celebrate what you've achieved – and the difference your fundraising will make to the people supported by Royal Voluntary Service.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I skydive?

Discover all of Skyline’s locations across the United Kingdom. For more details about their skydives and parachute jumps, check out Skyline’s FAQs

How much do I need to fundraise?

To take on a charity skydive, you’ll need to pay a £70 registration fee and raise at least £395 in sponsorship. Our team is  available to offer advice on meeting your target, and support you with your fundraising every step of the way.

Can we take part as a group?

Absolutely! The more, the merrier. Once you have your location and date, sign up everyone else with Skyline. Then, let both Skyline and us know how many people are in your team. You can create a JustGiving page as a group or individually.

What are the weight limits?

For tandem parachute jumps, the weight limit is typically around 15 stone but some airfields may have higher or lower limits. You can find the specific weight limits for each airfield in the FAQs.

Are there any medical restrictions?

The British Parachute Association (BPA) requires all participants to complete a medical form and bring this with them on the day of the jump. If you have any of the medical conditions listed on Form 115A, you’ll need to get Form 115B signed by a doctor. If you don’t have any of the listed conditions, you can self-sign Form 115A. If you have any questions about the forms, the Skyline team is available to help at 0207 424 5522 or via email at myskydive@skylineevents.co.uk
