Walsall Council
Walsall Council is the local authority, proudly serving the borough of Walsall in the West Midlands. With over 3,300 employees, it provides services to more than 286,700 residents.
Recognising the important role volunteering plays in supporting thriving communities, volunteers make an incredibly valuable contribution to council services from litter picks to maintaining the borough’s parks and green spaces.
Alongside this, the council further strengthens its local impact, while supporting employees' wellbeing and personal development, through an employee volunteering scheme introduced in 2026. All council employees (excluding schools) are entitled to up to 15 hours paid leave each year to help Walsall based voluntary, community and charitable organisations.
