Mobilising a new generation of volunteers

Volunteers are the lifeforce of Britain’s communities. But at a time when charities are experiencing growing demand for support, volunteer numbers are declining.

Powered by players of People’s Postcode Lottery, GoVo is here to help charities reach the volunteers they need.

Focusing on flexibility and inclusivity, GoVo makes volunteering more suited to modern life.

Whether it’s a spare weekend, an evening, or even a lunch break, GoVo helps volunteers connect with the causes they care about and find roles that work for them.

GoVo opens the door for more people to experience the rewards of volunteering - building a better supported and connected Britain.

Volunteering for all

Welcoming millions more volunteers could be transformative, enriching lives and communities across the nation. GoVo will help by:

  • Making volunteering more accessible with a diverse range of flexible and accessible volunteering roles.
  • Making finding opportunities easier with effortless search and registration.
  • Supporting charities of all sizes, national and local, to reach the volunteers they need to deliver their services.
  • Enabling businesses to deliver even greater impact from employee volunteering - benefitting their people, organisation and the community.

Leaders in volunteering for over 85 years

Royal Voluntary Service is one of Britain’s largest volunteering organisations. For over 85 years we’ve demonstrated the power of civic participation, inspiring millions of citizens to deliver vital support and relief in communities and the NHS.

We’re the recognised leaders in using digital to mobilise volunteers at scale. During the pandemic, on behalf of NHS England, we set up the largest digital volunteering initiative of its kind, NHS and Care Volunteer Responders. Through an app, over 600,000 volunteers were mobilised, many of them first timers.
