Volunteers' Week event of thanks

Today (Monday 1 June), we’re saying thank you to volunteers across Great Britain for giving their time to help others. We hope you’ll join us at a special online event at 2pm when we’ll be thanking Royal Voluntary service volunteers and NHS Volunteer Responders for their contribution. The event marks the start of Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June 2020) which recognises the commitment of volunteers and is supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

We’ll be sharing a special message from our President, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall and you can take part in a singalong with Royal Voluntary Service ambassador Elaine Paige OBE. There are  performances by Michael and Jowita, 2020 winners of The Greatest Dancer, the London Contemporary Voices Choir and Anne Denholm, Official Harpist to the Prince of Wales 2015-2019, and films about the history of Royal Voluntary Service and the modern day volunteering experience, including at the current time.

The Royal Voluntary Service event of thanks will take place at the Royal Voluntary Service Virtual Village Hall Facebook group and can be seen again here on our Virtual Village Hall website.
