The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is aimed at anyone between the ages of 14 and 24 who wants to get involved in life rather than watch it pass by. The Award enables you to help other people or your community, get fitter, develop skills and gain experiences, friends and talents that will stay with you for the rest of your life.
Royal Voluntary Service is an Approved Activity Provider (AAP) for young people completing the volunteering section of The Duke Edinburgh’s Award.
We provide many opportunities for young people undertaking the award at all levels bronze, silver or gold and by doing so we encourage young people to think of others and become more involved in their communities.
We help young people to provide evidence of their service and track their progress towards the award.
“My confidence has definitely grown and my people skills are a lot better. I think I am more sociable and volunteering has also opened my eyes to life in the community for different age groups. I have been able to use the volunteering that I have done when applying for university; it really helped me to develop my personal statement, I've been able to offer Royal Voluntary Service my time, my skills and my lovely, bubbly personality of course!”.
Aysha Patel, 19, university student and Royal Voluntary Service volunteer, joined Royal Voluntary Service when working towards her Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.
