Royal Voluntary Service has always stepped forward at times of great national challenge. The coronavirus outbreak is an unprecedented event in our lifetime and we are mobilising our staff and volunteers to do whatever they can to help.

During the coronavirus crisis, if you need help collecting shopping, medication or other essential supplies, please call 0808 196 3646 (8am to 8pm)

As COVID-19 restrictions ease, more and more of our services are re-opening. We’re taking things slowly and safely, and are excited to be welcoming you and others back as our doors open once again as follows:

Home Library services
England, Scotland & Wales - full service can commence

Non-essential transport
England, Scotland & Wales - full service can commence

Social group - outside
  • England - People allowed to meet outdoors in groups of up to 6 and will be able to take part in formally organised outdoor sports
  • Wales only - Organised activities for up to 30 adults outdoors
  • Scotland only - You can meet in groups of up to 6 adults from 6 households for exercise outdoors
Community centres
England & Scotland & Wales - community centres can reopen for social activities

Non-essential retail (gift shops)
England, Scotland & Wales - full service can commence

Retail cafés
Scotland only - full service can commence

For those unable to access community activities in person, our popular, free Virtual Village Hall connects people online and helps you to stay active, with hundreds of free activities to try.
