Supporting your vision at home
Royal Voluntary Service is delighted to be partnering with Specsavers on a national campaign to raise awareness of free NHS-funded home eye tests.
Available to people who are unable to visit an optician unaccompanied due to physical or mental illness/disability, this important partnership activity will support Royal Voluntary Service’s aims to help people live independently, stay safe and age well.
Together we are raising awareness of free NHS-funded eye tests ensuring that everyone has access to the support and services they need to have the best vision possible and support their own well-being. We are sign posting this campaign throughout all our Community Services and Retail sites across the country and leading on this through our national PR stories, social media posts, posters and leaflets such as our guide Free NHS-funded home eye test
Home eye tests from Specsavers are carried out with the same care and attention as in a Specsavers store and are funded by the NHS if certain eligibility criteria are met.
Previously in 2015 Royal Voluntary Service and Specsavers joined together to launch the Listen Out campaign to raise awareness of age-related hearing loss, the signs to look out for and to encourage people over 55 to have a free hearing check at Specsavers Hearing Centres. Together we produced a guide Listen out.. . for the tell tale signs of hearing loss
