Lady Margaret Skiffington Trust
The Lady Margaret Skiffington Trust has been a loyal supporter of Royal Voluntary Service in East Fife since 2008. Thanks to the ongoing support and generosity of the Trustees, the accessible transport service for visually impaired people has continued to provide much needed access to transport.
The service makes a huge difference to visually impaired people who would otherwise struggle to get out and about. As well as providing transport for medical appointments, the service also helps them to meet up with friends, go shopping or to attend local support groups.
Our trained volunteer drivers are always willing to go the extra mile and often provide additional support. This could be by guiding the individual to exactly where they need to be, or by spending an extra five minutes having a chat.
"I would not be able to keep appointments without this service. The volunteers are always very helpful. They take me to the correct department and wait until I am finished. The office staff are always polite and considerate. The service is excellent and I would be lost without it."
"We are delighted to support Royal Voluntary Service in East Fife. The rural nature of the area can make it very difficult for visually impaired and blind people to get out and about. Royal Voluntary Service volunteers provide an invaluable service and help visually impaired people to feel less isolated and part of the community."
