We are an innovative not-for-profit organisation that helps to make life better for older people in the UK. We believe that everybody should matter, regardless of how old they are. We are now looking for a part time Service Co-ordinator to join our team on a contract until the 30th September 2018.
If you are a highly organised co-ordinator seeking a fresh, new challenge, this is a superb opportunity to take on a challenging, yet highly rewarding contract.
In this important position, you will have the chance to broaden your existing abilities and facilitate the success of services that are transforming lives on a daily basis.
As a Service Co-ordinator, you will ensure that our community services are delivered to an exceptional standard.
Working closely with the Service Manager, you’ll develop and implement the charity’s services, ensuring that all targets are met.
You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day co-ordination of services, being responsible for the delivery of a Buddy scheme, matching volunteers with older people who are experiencing social isolation. You will recruit, train, support and motivate volunteers to empower older people to make changes in their lives to alleviate loneliness.
Performing a range of duties and acting as an ambassador for the charity, you could be promoting the charity at an event, organising a recruitment fair or reporting on the difference we have made to an older persons life as a result of the service; the role is varied from day to day.
Interested? To be considered, you must have:
- Knowledge and experience of general administrative processes and duties
- Experience of maintaining databases
- Proficiency in MS Office, email and the internet
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English or equivalent experience
- A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Adaptable and flexible, as a Service Co-ordinator, you must be a clear communicator with excellent multi-tasking skills. A team player mentality and strong prioritisation abilities are also key.
Experience of working with volunteers and/or volunteer-led support groups would be beneficial, as would experience of co-ordinating community activities or services.
Please note, the closing date for applications is the 19th February 2018.
This is a part time role, working 16 hours per week, fully flexible over 7 days.
