WHSmith Trust donates £40,000 to Royal Voluntary Service.
The WHSmith Trust (registered charity no.1013782) has donated to our national emergency appeal in support of our efforts in providing a lifeline to tens of thousands of older and vulnerable people, now and in the months to come. This donation will enable our teams of volunteers across the country to help people stay well at home and access the healthcare support they need.
"The demand for our support has increased dramatically and our staff and volunteers are working hard during these challenging times to alleviate the impact of coronavirus on vulnerable people across Britain. This generous donation from The WHSmith Trust is extremely valuable and will help us support people to stay well at home, enable them to access the healthcare they need and ultimately reduce pressure on the NHS front line."Sam Ward, Director of Services and Deputy CEO for Royal Voluntary Service
From hospitals to high streets, WHSmith has been supporting hundreds of communities across the UK throughout the COVID-19 crisis. They are contributing to national and local initiatives, and supporting the exceptional efforts of our NHS, key workers and local volunteers.
"I am incredibly proud of all our colleagues who are doing an outstanding job in supporting our communities – from providing food, drinks, and essentials to NHS staff, to offering vital postal and banking services in local areas. We are proud to support the exceptional efforts of our NHS and key workers, and we want to do what we can to make life a little easier for customers and communities during these challenging times."Toby Keir, Managing Director, WHSmith Travel
