Admiral partnership with Royal Voluntary Service
Through its newly formed Ministry of Giving, Admiral will donate £100,000 over two years to Royal Voluntary Service to fund a tangible and sustainable project in the cities where Admiral’s UK offices are based. Royal Voluntary Service was one of four chosen charities.

Admiral’s donation will be fund a new a full-time Royal Voluntary Service Community Engagement and Development Worker to work across south Wales. They will work to target, inspire, recruit and enable volunteer leaders and helpers who live in Newport, Swansea and Cardiff (particularly those in later life) to develop and deliver coordinated activities to meet the needs of local older people and also support their own well-being.

New volunteer-led groups will be supported from the outset to become sustainable beyond the lifetime of the funding, through putting in place a low-cost charging model and through community fundraising, allowing the support offered to older people to be ongoing - creating a legacy to the Admiral Ministry of Giving’s support and investment.

"We’re really pleased to be able to make these donations to four fantastic causes which we hope will have a positive and long lasting impact on our local communities.

"Giving is a big part of Admiral and our staff undertake a great deal of fundraising in the offices and many spend a lot of time volunteering in the community. It was really important to us to choose causes which were close to their hearts. It’s more than just about money too and we’ll be giving our staff opportunities to get involved in each of the projects in a number of ways through various volunteering opportunities.”

Admiral’s Chief Financial Officer, Geraint Jones

"We’re delighted to be partnering Admiral’s Ministry of Giving. The Community Connections project will improve the emotional and physical health of older people in Newport, Cardiff and Swansea and have a lasting positive impact in these communities as well as providing many more volunteer roles locally."
