On ward services

Royal Voluntary Service on ward servicesRoyal Voluntary Service volunteers already run ward trolley rounds offering refreshments, convenience items and reading material to patients as well as a little company during the day outside of visiting hours.

We are now training our volunteers to offer befriending to older people on the ward, particularly when family live far away or friends can only visit during the evenings and weekends.

Our volunteers play an important role in providing company but also in keeping minds active by reading, talking and playing games with patients.
